THE BUSINESS
Optyield is a yield-optimizer platform that aims to provide sustainable yield on user's cryptocurrencies. We were tasked to form the brand identity, website and dashboard for the project. As part of the major brand strategy, we created a mascot called 'OPTY' to introduce the new defi technology. 
THE PROBLEM
With the goal of wanting the product to be inclusive of those new to web3 and let alone the defi space, the challenge was to come up with a strategy that would easily communicate the concept behind using the blockchain to optimize customer's yield if they use Optyield's platform.  Additionally, new users  to the crypto space are afraid to explore new avenues of financial instruments to augment their earnings because the crypto landscape was still filled with untrustworthy projects.  
THE SOLUTION
With the acknowledgement that potential customers  are curious but afraid to explore crypto and defi, we aimed to create a visual identity that made people feel safe through visual queues that communicate the perception of professionalism, trust, transparency, and tech.
We created 'OPTY' as a mascot for Optyield to help new users visualize the smart contract functions & blockchain tech in physical form.

Opty’s shape is inspired by a shield to reinforce the image of protection of user funds. Opty’s smooth curves make sure that customers feel comfortable to approach Optyield’s services.
This model was created using SPLINE - a 3D web browser design tool.
We kept the UI design of the dashboard modern and clean with generous negative space. After surveying and research of the current defi UI/UX landscape, we took the best ideas and refined them to simplify the UX of the platform. All design elements were created to continue the philosophy of creating an experience that felt easy, safe and professional.
